Dubai to host India Pakistan clash in Women’s T20 World Cup

Dubai to host the most awaited India-Pakistan clash as ICC has declared a revised schedule for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup. the tournament will be now conducted in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai will also host the finale of the 18-day tournament on October 20.

The tournament will now be hosted in UAE as hosting such an important event in Bangladesh is not possible due to its current political conditions. The country is undergoing turmoils and protests. 

Sharjah, the other host city, will stage the crucial encounter between India and Australia on October 13, the only league fixture that Harmanpreet Kaur’s side will play away from Dubai. Sharjah will also host the second semifinal on October 18. If India qualifies, they will play the first semifinal in Dubai on October 17.

The groups remain the same as before, with six-time champions Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka in Group A. South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Scotland have been placed in Group B.

Each side will play four group matches and the top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals. A reserve day has been fixed for both the semi-finals and the final, the ICC said.

10 warm-up matches will also be played before the tournament from 28 September to 1 October. Matches will begin from 3rd October till 20th October.
