India women vs South Africa women 2nd match has been abandoned
The 2nd match on the IND vs SA women’s series has been abandoned due to rain consistent throughout the match. The first match of the series had already been won by South Africa by 12 runs. The 3rd and final match of the series is scheduled for Tuesday, 9th July 2024.
The venue for the match will be the same- MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The match will start sharp at 7 P.M. IST
So far the scoreboard is 1-0, with South Africa (after winning the 1st match) at 1, and India at 0. The rain drastically impacted the outcome of the match as India had already lost the chance of winning the series. There will only be two outcomes: either South Africa wins the match and ultimately wins the title or the second outcome will be, India wins the match and the leading series to draw between the two teams.
In the final match Team India will be Captained by Harmanpreet Kaur. The performance of the team in the series is said to be average as they lost the first match but the team has shown spirit and will prepare harder to win the finals. Though India is already out of the of winning the title, winning the final match is very important for the team to prevent South Africa from holding the title.
On the other hand, South Africa is already wearing confidence after winning the first match and aspiring to win the finals. The team is captained by Laura Wolvaardt. The team has won the first game under her captaincy and according to Google prediction their chances are high of winning the final and the title.
MA Chidambaram Stadium, Pitch Report
For the inaugural Twenty20 Internationals between India and South Africa, a black-soil pitch was prepared. There was some grass on the court, but Chennai weather is known to play slow. It is anticipated that the slow bowlers will make things difficult for the hitters.
The ground square was covered on the evening of the game due to the expectation of rain. Some showers are also predicted on the game day.
